Balaao is a reference to the Portuguese word for balloon – a word that evokes memories of our childhood, carefree light-heartedness and freedom. The name refers to the bulbous stitching of the body elements, which resemble a sequence of bulging balloons and carry us gently – perhaps even beyond our own horizon.

The moulded, rounded foams and the deep-pile, luxurious longhair mohair cover make the bed inviting, soft and infinitely cosy. Even the way in which the premium foams of the upholstered bed are moulded follows the principle: no corners or edges, please. This softness allows dream and reality to glide into one another.
The external dimensions of the Balaao bed shown are: W x H x D: 210 x 102 x 228 cm
The lying height with box spring system is 56 cm.
At first glance, the bed appears to have a square coffered design; on closer inspection, its dissolution into a softer, more sensual design language becomes apparent. A sturdy wooden frame with premium foam in the headboard, footboard and side sections provides the round upholstery typical of this model.
The bed is then given its clothes: the cover of the bed is carefully crimped on each individual bubble before it is upholstered so that the fabric can nestle perfectly against the structure. This gives the bed its characteristic curves and is decisive for its visual and tactile softness. Like every piece from our manufactory, the Balaao bed is unique and upholstered by hand.
The bed shown is designed for a mattress width of 180 cm. However, it can also be manufactured for mattress widths of 160 and 200 cm and is available in extra lengths on request. The bed can be ordered with a sprung wooden frame and point-elasticated cold foam mattress or with a box spring system.
